ALBERT COREN RAN DRY-CLEANING SHOP, 80 Albert Coren , 80, who for many years operated a dry-cleaning shop in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, died Friday of sarcoma at Graduate Hospital. He had been a resident of North Wales for 20 years. From about 1951 until he retired in 1986, Mr. Coren ran Almar French Cleaners at 77th and Ogontz Avenues in West Oak Lane. He lived around the corner from the shop during those years. Mr. Coren grew up in the Feltonville section of the city and graduated from Mastbaum High School. He got into the trade as a deliveryman, running a dry-cleaning route for tailor shops. Mr. Coren was active in several trade organizations, including serving as president of the Delaware Valley Dry Cleaners Association and the Guild of Professional Dry Cleaners. He also served on the board of the Pennsylvania Fabricare Association, for years conducting training seminars for that organization. Mr. Coren was a member of Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park and was a former board member of Congregation Emanuel in Philadelphia. He was a dedicated fan of Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies. He also enjoyed saltwater fishing. Mr. Coren is survived by his wife of 58 years, Edith; a son, Stuart; a daughter, Marjorie Lyons; two brothers; one sister; and four grandchildren. Services and burial in Montefiore Cemetery were yesterday.

Daughter of the late Rose and David Friedman; sister of the late Lillian (late Joseph) Jackson. Graveside Services are private.
