The 1900 census lists Louis as living with his parents, and gives his date of birth as January, 1886. However, I have used as his birthdate the month and day recorded on his gravestone. In the 1905 Baltimore City Directory, Louis, his mother Carrie, and his father Moses are all living in Westport, a district of Baltimore south of the harbor. Louis is listed as a clerk. Louis is buried at Hebrew Friendship Cemetery, in the plot purchased by his mother Carrie. He is buried next to Anna Silverman, presumably his wife. Louis' gravestone bears the inscription June 24, 1886 - September 24, 1939; Anna's July 26, 1886 - March 3, 1956. A letter in the cemetery's files from Louis' sister Zelda says that he and his family live in Mulberry, Florida. The notation in the file indicating when his grave was "opened" ascribes S as Louis' middle initial. Other Silvermans are buried in the family plot. These may be related to Louis or to one or more siblings: Rebecca Silverman (August 9, 1890 - June 17, 1921); Paul Silverman ("father" August 25, 1900 - January 15, 1953); Sylvan Silverman ("father" June 20, 1904 - January 22, 1958); Sadie Silverman (January 1, 1908 - August 24, 1979); Morris A. Silverman ("father" May 21, 1912 - December 4, 1952); Sylvia S. Wallach ("mother and wife" June 13, 1913 - January 22, 1972); and Robert L. Silverman (November 19, 1919 - June 14, 2000). Notes in the office file also indicate that Florence Silverman was buried June 10, 2001 and a map of the gravesite indicates a "Reba" as well
