May Crowetz, 92, great-grandmother of 3 LAKE CITY, Fla. - May Crowetz, 92, died Friday (May 23, 2003) at Caring Hearts Facility in Lake City, Fla. Mrs. Crowetz was born in Vermont to Isadore and Ida (Gordon) Mandell. May lived in Plainfield and Toms River before residing in Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, Nathan Crowetz in 1978. She is survived by her son, Irving Crowetz of Lake City, Fla.; her daughter, Yetta Rubinstein of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Louis Mandell of Martinsville; three sisters, Ruth Treffinger of Toms River, Freda Ganslar of Baltimore, Md. and Eva Mirinov of New Brunswick; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Higgins Home For Funerals, 209 W. Eighth St., Plainfield, with Rabbi Moshe Samber officiating. Interment will be in Hebrew Cemetery, South Plainfield.

Nathan Crowetz HOLIDAY, Fla. - Nathan Crowetz, 77, of 6013 Finch Drive, died yesterday (Jan. 18, 1978) at Community Hospital, New Port Richey, Fla. Born in New Orleans, he resided in PLainfield, N.J., for 40 years before moving to Holiday in 1973. He was the former owner of Nat's Army and Navy Store in Scotch Plains, N.J., and had operated army and navy stores in New Jersey since 1941. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. May Mandell Cowetz; a son, Irving of Gainesville; a daughter, Mrs. Yetta Rubenstein of Orangeburg, S.C.; a brother, Saul of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Petrella of Baltimore, and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangment are by Higgins Home for Funerals, Plainfield.

Miss Yetta Crowetz's Engagement To Mordie Rubenstein Announced Mr. and Mrs. H. Benjamin of Orangeburg announce the engagement of their niece, Yetta Crowetz to Mr. Mordie Rubenstein of Elloree. The wedding will be an event of August. Miss Crowetz is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Crowetz of Plainfield, New Jersey. She attended the Plainfield schools and has made her home in Orangeburg for the past eight months. Mr. Rubenstein is the son of Mrs. W. Rubenstein and the late Mr. Rubenstein of Elloree. He attended the Elloree Schools and during the war served in the Seabees about 4 years, part of which time was spent overseas. He is now associated with the Bambo Shoe Company.
