Informed by George's widow, Ruth. RS. United Hebrew Cemetery is associated with Liberty Jewish Synagogue. George talked little about his family, although he always said his father was very intelligent, and Ruth did not know more than that his father had one brother. Ed Silverman remembered that George was always called George Harris, and his widow was surprised when I said a cousin last remembered that he sold Chevrolets in 1938, and said yes, that was right. George was "an installment man", a collector. He had a string of jobs before, including salesman in a jewelry store. RS. His first wife was Lille Levin, pronounced leVIN, who died at age 42 of Lupus, when her children were just children. RS. There is an SSDI entry that matches: Lillian Silverman, b. January 16, 1929; registered in MD; d. October 1971. The SSDI for George: b. November 7, 1926; registered in MD; d. March 1996; last residence Randallstown, MD. George had three children, all by his first marriage: Betsy, b. c1951 of Randallstown, Maryland; Jeffrey, b. c1956 who, with his wife Sandy, lives in Westminister, Maryland; and Ivy, also of Westminister. George's three children have given him five grandchildren, the last of whom was born to Ivy last month (March, 1996).
