Later, "My dear brother Merrill went to Pittsburg (no h) Kansas and had a ladies dress store in 1948 and died there in 1951. His widow still lives there on South Broadway. There were no children. She did not know any of the Baltimore or Pittsburgh relatives."
Writing further on March 29, 1966, Donald says: "My mother Celia" died in 1932 when I was 16 and my only brother Merrill was 21 yrs old. This was in the midst of the depression and things were very tough. Our father died suddenly in 1919 " I was 21 months old and my brother Merrill was 7..."
Cousin Ed Silverman says that Merrill and Donald were in the Navy in California during the War, and while there talked Gloria Seigle into coming out. ES |
