Source | Family Tree - Will Ogburn for Silverman/Buckner Family Publication: Family Tree Dated February 2002 Text: A birth certificate from the City of Baltimore states that a female child was born to S. and Esther Buckner on May 27, 1879, at 84 "Harosin St", which would be Harrison Street. The mother is Esther Kornstein Buckner, and gives the place of birth birth as something unreadable, "Resnin Polan." The father is S. Buckner, his employment is "Busnes", and he too is born in [unreadable] "Roosnin Polan." That the certicate identifies a place in the old world in addition to Russia and/or Poland is very significant, especially since family tradition is that the Buckners and the Silvermans came from the same town. This is the only documentary evidence of a specific place, yet it is unreadable on the microfish. A copy of the certificate should be ordered (certificate no. A-31242).
All birth certificates of the time ask which number child this is, that is, how many children the mother has had. In this case the form is filled in as "the 7". This number is confirmed by the birth certificate for Israel, the next child born to Esther and Solomon, which states that is their 8th child. This means there are several additional children not now known. |
