HOWARD TO FIGHT IRS BOOTY CLAIM $100,000 Was Taken From Gaming Operation By LOUIS P. PEDDICORD [Ellicott City Bureau of The Sun] The Howard county state's attorney said yesterday that he will contest an Internal Revenue Service › claim to more than $100,000 confiscated from a family of four who were convicted Thursday of maintaining a lottery and bookmaking operation in their home. The tax service filed a lien against the confiscated money almost immediately after police raided the home of the Ellicott City family last April. To File Motion Richard J. Kinlein, the state's attorney, countered the lien at that time with the argument that the $103,421 in cash found hidden in the home was needed a as evidence against the husband, wife, son and daughter who were arrested. "I intend to file a motion of forfeiture now," Mr. Kinlein said yesterday. The family - Myron Saul Buckner, his wife, Lydia Buckner, their son, Allen Myron Buckner, 30, and their daughter, Joyce Lydia Buckner, 25 - was conficted [sic] by a jury of eight men and four women late Thursday after about an hour's deliberation.
