Dr. Kenneth Malinow, who practiced internal medicine and psychiatry in Baltimore since 1980, died Saturday at Sinai Hospital of heart disease.
Dr. Malinow, who was 42 and lived on Midfield Road in Pikesville, maintained an office in the Village of Cross Keys.
He was a member of the staffs of Sinai Hospital, the Homewood Hospital Center South, Good Samaritan Hospital and Church Hospital.
Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of Milford Mill High School, the University of Maryland at College Park and the university's medical school.
He studied on a fellowship at the Max Planck Institute in Germany. He was a resident in internal medicine at Sinai Hospital and in psychiatry at University Hospital.
Specializing in matters on the borderline between physical medicine and psychiatry, Dr. Malinow was a member of several professional groups, including the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the New York Academy of Science, the Maryland Psychiatric Society, the American Psychiatric Association, the Baltimore City Medical Society and the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland.
He is survived by his wife, the former Elaine Hurwitz; two sons, Joshua and Daniel Malinow, both of Pikesville; his mother, Helene Malinow of Randallstown; and two brothers, Dr. Andrew Malinow of Crownsville and Martin Malinow of Los Angeles.
Services were held Sunday at the Beth Jacob Congregation, where Dr. Malinow was a board member. He also was a member of the Beth Tfiloh Congregation. |

Malinow, passed away on Sunday, September 6th, 2020. She was the devoted mother of, Dr. Andrew (Denise) Malinow, and Martin (Johanna) Malinow, and the late Dr. Kenneth (Elaine) Malinow; loving grandmother of, Joshua (Maura) Malinow, Daniel (Molly) Malinow, Matthew (Colleen) Malinow, Nicholas Malinow, Justin Malinow, Charlie Malinow, and Madeleine Malinow; great grandmother of, Kenna, and Leila Malinow; She is also survived by her brother, Abraham Greenberg; and the aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Greenberg, Leon Greenberg, and Martha Malinow; and daughter of the late Sarah and Reuben Greenberg. The family is also grateful for her devoted caregivers, Theresa Butler and Larraine Brown.
