Dr. Rex Ruppa Dr. Rex Ruppa, who suffered head injuries sustained in a fall from his horse in an event in the Madison Imperial Horse Show at the Dane County Coliseum on Aug. 2, 1973, died Thursday, Feb. 7 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Dr. Ruppa, 51, who had been transferred to the Milwaukee institution from University Hospital, Madison, on August 16 last, never regained full consciousness. He attended public schools and the Milwaukee County Day School (now the University School of Milwaukee) before attending Harvard University during World War II. He then earned his medical degree at Marquette University Medical School. Dr. Ruppa served his internship at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, then spent two years in the Army Medical Corps at Mendota, Minn. Ruppa, who had practiced in the Milwaukee area since 1950, served on the staffs of St. Joseph '8, St. Luke's and Children's Hospitals. He also served as a clinical professor of pediatrics for the Medical College of Wisconsin. His offices were at 8200 N. Teutonia Ave., Brown Deer. In addition to his wife, Jean he is survived by three sons, James, of Klamath Falls, Ore., Paul, a student at the University of Wisconsin Madison, and Daniel, at the home at 131 E. Pioneer Rd., Mequon; a daughter, Betsy, at home; and Ruppa's mother, Mrs. Belle Ruppa, of White fish Bay. A memorial service was held at Temple Shalom, 7360 N. Santa Monica Blvd., last Sunday. The body was donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin. The family suggested contributions to the Rex Ruppa Memorial Fund of Temple Shalom.
