WAUCHULA, June 26. - (Special) - Baptist pastorium was the scene Monday afternoon at 1:30 clock of the wedding of Joyce King and Kay Silverman. The Rev. Otis W. Garland officated at the double ring ceremony in the presence of the immediate families and close friends.
The altar was arranged with a background of palms and floor baskets of vari-colored California asters and white candelabra holding white tapers.
A program of nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Bedford Prescott, pianist, and Miss Nancy Alderman, vocalist.
The bride was given by her father and her maid of honor was Miss Mary Frances Joiner. Sylvan Silverman served his brother as best man.
The bride wore a gown of imported white embroidered organdy over taffeta with a hoop skirt. The closely fitted bodice featured a scalloped neckline and butterfly sleeves. Her fingertip veil fell from a coronet of lilies of the valley and her bouquet was of valley lilies centered with a purple throated white orchid.
For the wedding trip Mrs. Silverman wore a navy faille dress with white accessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet.
The couple will make their home in Wauchula, where Mr. Silverman is employed with the Life and Casualty Company of Tennessee. |
