Source | Wedding/ Engagement Announcements Citation details: The Evening Star (Washington, DC) Date of entry in original source: June 19, 1927 (Sivan 19, 5687) Text: A pretty wedding Sunday, June 12, at L’Aiglon Club, was that of Miss Ruth Reichgut, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Reichgut, who became the bride of Mr. Arnold H. Neviaser, Rev. L.J. Schwefel officiating. The improvised altar was built of palms, Calla lilies and white peonies. Mrs. Marguerite Cottrell gave a vocal solo.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of duchess satin with a court train of satin and tulle. Her veil of tulle was held by a coronet of rosepoint lace and clusters of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of bride roses and lilies of the valley.
Miss Esther Reichgut was maid of honor for her sister. She wore yellow satin with a bouffont skirt of tulle shading from yellow to gold and a picture hat of yellow and gold. She carried Pernet roses and lavender sweetpeas. The bride’s other attendants were Misa Hattie Kirsner of Hampton. Va.; Miss Bertha Saidman, Miss Ruth Fields, Miss Lillian Felker, Miss Ruth Lewin of Baltimore, and Miss Betty Neviaser. They wore dresses fashioned after that of the maid of honor in pastel shades, and carried arm bouquets of pink roses.
Dr. Julius S. Neviaser acted as best man for his brother. The ushers were Mr. Max Yerman of Baltimore, Dr. Sylvan Danzansky, Mr. Leon Neviaser, Mrs. Joseph Reichgut, Mr. Joseph Kroman and Mr. Raymond Grossman.
Mrs. Reichgut, mother of the bride, wore a gown of green satin trimmed in silver and carried lavender sweetpeas. Mrs. Neviaser, mother of the bridegroom, was in blue satin trimmed with flesh color and carried pink sweetpeas.
A dinner and reception followed the ceremony, after which Mr. and Mrs. Neviaser left for an extended motor trip through Canada, the bride wearing a black satin suit with accessories in black and white. The wedding was attended by many guests from out of town. |
