NORFOLK - Leroy Henry Jacobs, 86, passed away Jan. 31, 2006. Mr. Jacobs was a retired U.S. Army colonel with service during World War II in both artillery from 1941-1947 and quartermaster in 1947 until his retirement in 1970. After retirement, he worked for Acacia Financial Group of Washington, D.C. He was a member of Ohef Sholom Temple in Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Jacobs. Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Jacobs; his daughter-in-law, Maureen Jacobs; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Rosalin Mandelberg.
