Romantic Hawaii was the honeymoon destination of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lee Jacobs (Barbara Anne Rudick) following their marriage Sunday in the Garden Room of Los Angeles' Bel-Air Hotel.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nat Rudick of Los Angeles. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Al D. Jacobs, 5316 Appian Way.
One hundred wedding guests were greeted by the newlyweds at a dinner-dance reception in the hotel, following the nuptial service.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an off-white Italian silk gown of unpressed pleating and wide court train. The jeweled bodice was framed by a filmy illusion veil fastened to a jeweled crown of tulle and lace. She carried a bouquet of white orchids, lilies-of-the-valley and stephanotis atop a white Bible.
Bridal attendants were identically gowned in ice blue chiffon with headbands of matching blue flowers. Matron of honor Mrs. Allan Rudick carried roses and rubrum lilies, while bridesmaids Mrs. Philip Brooks and Miss Janice Sarvas held cascades of blue blossoms.
The bridegroom chose his father to serve as best man. Ushers were Stanley Jacobs, Allan Rudick and Bruce Jacobs.
A student at UCLA, the bride is president of her sorority, Alpha Epsilon Phi. The bridegroom was graduated from UCLA, where he was affiliated with Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity, and is now serving with the Navy at Los Alamitos Air Base. The young couple will make their home in Long Beach. |

Passed away on Wednesday, February 22nd, surrounded by his family in Palm Desert. Norman was just shy of his 74th birthday.
He is survived by his beloved wife Joni and loving children: Richard, Paige, Robert and Ashley. He is also survived by his son Steven.
Norman had a presence that none of us will ever forget. He was a strong, prideful man, incredibly bright and well spoken, funny and engaging, hard working and had a smile we all loved to see. His passions included paddle-tennis, racquetball, UCLA, traveling, photography, golfing, single-malt scotch, playing gin with his desert buddies and his wife Joni.
Norman fought his cancer battle with grace and strength all the way until the end. He will be sorely missed. He went to UCLA where he was a cheerleader and made many friends that he still has today.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to "Stop Cancer" 310/286-2511.
Services will be held on Sunday February 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Mortuary 800/576-1994. |
