ROBBINS Sara Ellen Robbins, of New York City, passed away December 13, 2006. Sarah was born March 3, 1952. She attended Eastmoor High, graduating in 1970. She received her BA in Art History from the University of Cincinnati and her MLS from Pratt Institute, NYC. After achieving her LLD from OSU, Sara returned to New York where she took a position at the Brooklyn Law School. In a statement for the NY Times, Stuart Subotnick, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Joan G. Wexler, Dean wrote: "The Brooklyn Law School community mourns the loss of Professor Sara Robbins, Director of the Law Library. Over the past two decades, thousands of students, staff and faculty members have benefited from her thoughtful stewardship of the library, her professionalism, and her grace. Her role in making the library one of the nation's most technologically advanced was indispensable, and her mark on Brooklyn Law School is indelible." Sara was part of a creative community of needlepoint artists with whom she loved working.
Sweet, sweet Sara was dearly loved by her sisters and family, and all who knew her were touched by her kindness. Sara was preceded in death by her mother Norma C. Robbins. She is survived by her father, Dr. Malcolm (Jo) Robbins; sisters, Anne (Craig Lichtman) Robbins of Phil., PA, Marlene Robbins of Columbus, OH, Kay (Dan) Ehrenkrantz of Phil., PA; and her cherished nephews, Ben Lichtman and Joseph and Eliav Ehrenkrantz. Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2006, at the New Tifereth Israel Cemetery with Rabbi Harold Berman and Cantor Jack Chomsky officiating.
